Designing for Billions
Intro
As the Product Design Lead, I orchestrated the UX re-architecture of the myAadhaar portal, India's primary digital identity gateway serving 1.3 billion citizens. Operating within an aggressive three-month timeline and rigid multi-departmental governance, I established a dual-track DesignOps pipeline to align a 6-person cross-functional team. By dismantling a flawed login-gated architecture and implementing systemic interaction rules to bypass legacy technical timeouts, we mitigated a baseline 53% task failure rate, achieving an 18.4% overall improvement in usability and a 24% increase in task completion speed.
